Born and raised in Saguenay Lac St-Jean, Quebec, Hubert graduated in 1985 with honours as a Construction and Maintenance Electrician — the trade that would shape the rest of his career.

Meet The Founder
From a small shop in Alma to a trusted name in Peel.
Lion Electric was founded by Master Electrician Hubert Larouche — and the family story behind the company is what shaped the way we still work today.
Industrial experience
Hubert built his expertise working for a large Quebec electrical contractor on industrial and commercial jobs — sawmills, plants and complex installations. His drive earned him a promotion to Crew Chief and then Supervisor.
First business, in Alma, Quebec
After earning his Master Electrician licence, Hubert opened his first business in Alma, Quebec — sharing the passion of his work with his family and a growing list of loyal customers.
Lion Electric is born
Faced with a struggling Quebec construction economy, Hubert and his wife Martine moved the family to Mississauga, Ontario — and Lion Electric was founded the same year, rooted in family values and a mission of superior, safe service.
A family-run trade
Hubert has since brought his son David and son-in-law Justin into the fold — keeping the company a family-run trade where pride of workmanship is passed down, not outsourced.
